Canoe Trips

Imagine following part of
Thoreau's journey into the Maine woods by paddling the Penobscot River. It
is gentle river in the shadow of Mt. Katahdin where you are mesmerized by
breathtaking landscape, quiet wilderness and wild moose.
Let Higher Pursuits plan, arrange

Penobscot River, Maine. You can also join us for one of our regularly
scheduled trips. Typically, we guide trips in Maine during the summer

trips features a stay at one of the famous Appalachian Mountain Club Huts.

Mount Katahdin Backpacking Trips |
|
At 5,271 feet, Mount Katahdin
is the highest peak in Maine. It stands as the northern most terminus of the
Appalachian Trail and by some accounts is the last true wilderness on the
East Coast. It is located in beautiful Baxter State Park and traversed by
remote hiking trails and amazing wildlife. It is a strenuous hike, but the
view at the top is worth every step of the trip.
